I also tried one more time to get the $ stolen from my account put back, but one had still not cleared so all I could do is get the smaller of the three taken care of. I'll have to call back once the $97.?? one clears. I want to extend the 90 day fraud alert to 7 years, but will have to file a report with the sheriff's office to do that because I'll have to file a report from them to get that done.

Thanks for the info. Went south and closed my banking account there and started a new one. That deactivated my ATM for that account. Then I canceled my ATM for Chase, but will get a new one. This is going to make it tough to get or spend any $ until I get those though, but at least for now that should put me back in a safe zone. Tomorrow I'll take D Rose's advice and contact the big 3 credit reporting companies and get that taken care of.tffnguyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01830558433596399955noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8051650307488354823.post-75938741544388355562011-02-14T16:07:50.599-06:002011-02-14T16:07:50.599-06:00Nick, if I could get a hold of them they wouldn...Nick, if I could get a hold of them they wouldn't need to fall on a sharp object!

DD, Well yeah! Info here: http://www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs17a.htm

I'd call Equifax, they will alert Transunion and Experian.

Also, here's a good heads-up info to follow:

Under new provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA, §605A) you can place an initial fraud alert for only 90 days. The credit bureaus will each mail you a notice of your rights as an identity theft victim. Once you receive them, contact each of the three bureaus immediately to request two things:

a free copy of your credit report
an extension of the fraud alert to seven years
You may request that only the last four digits of your Social Security number (SSN) appear on the credit report.

Good luck.Denesehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16724557656399049287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8051650307488354823.post-48834800872260515302011-02-14T11:53:58.723-06:002011-02-14T11:53:58.723-06:00Sounds like a good job.
