Roadrunner caught in the act. Shelah doesn't seem to mind sharing her water.

  1. Great pictures David. Shelah must have been sleeping.

    1. DD, I think she tried to catch it a few times and finally decided to save the energy and leave it alone. The same has happened with cottontails around here.

    1. Bkid, the dogs probably wouldn't have been able to catch it outside. Might have resembled one of the roadrunner, coyote cartoons.

  5. Had 2 around here for years,,LOVED watching them. Saw the male bring the female a lizard and drop it at her feet, then do all these crazzyyy dances,,, lol. They would hide and stretch their neck out from behind stuff to watch me.

    1. TNT so far just one here. Maybe it will get a mate later? At least that's one more reasons for rattlesnakes not to be around here. They kill them to. Red racers are around here to.

  6. If they kill rattlesnakes I would even go find him a mate...so they can have lots of little roadrunners.

It is going to climb to 100 degrees today so I imagine it will be a lot hotter in my favorite desert. Take care and don't make us wait so long between posts...we worry about you!

    1. MsB, I don't think I want a bunch of them running around one is fine with me.

The weather station I get the weather from here always seems to be from 5 to 10 degrees cooler than here. It calls for 105 a couple of days this week so we will probably get to 110 or higher.
