Great pictures David. Shelah must have been sleeping.
ReplyDeleteDD, I think she tried to catch it a few times and finally decided to save the energy and leave it alone. The same has happened with cottontails around here.
DeleteIs that what a roadrunner looks like. Only ever seen the cartoon one :)
ReplyDeleteYep Dani, that's the real deal.
DeleteNice pictures, do you have any recent ones of Shelah as well?
ReplyDeleteNo MsB, but I'll probably post some pictures of her before long.
DeleteI had one get into my place down there and my dogs almost killed the poor thing.
ReplyDeleteBkid, the dogs probably wouldn't have been able to catch it outside. Might have resembled one of the roadrunner, coyote cartoons.
DeleteHad 2 around here for years,,LOVED watching them. Saw the male bring the female a lizard and drop it at her feet, then do all these crazzyyy dances,,, lol. They would hide and stretch their neck out from behind stuff to watch me.
ReplyDeleteTNT so far just one here. Maybe it will get a mate later? At least that's one more reasons for rattlesnakes not to be around here. They kill them to. Red racers are around here to.
DeleteIf they kill rattlesnakes I would even go find him a mate...so they can have lots of little roadrunners.
ReplyDeleteIt is going to climb to 100 degrees today so I imagine it will be a lot hotter in my favorite desert. Take care and don't make us wait so long between posts...we worry about you!
MsB, I don't think I want a bunch of them running around one is fine with me.
DeleteThe weather station I get the weather from here always seems to be from 5 to 10 degrees cooler than here. It calls for 105 a couple of days this week so we will probably get to 110 or higher.
Bravo!
