I've been asked by family when I'm going to do a post for August and there really hasn't been anything to blog about, but here goes anyway.
My hair had gotten to the length where it was getting real unruly so I broke out the clippers and this is what you get. Guess I better start wearing the hat again when I'm in the sun.
I'd also been asked about how Shelah is doing and as you can see she is in her usual favorite place. (Under the cabin) I sort of wish I hadn't taken this picture because after a closer inspection it shows that several of the tile blocks that were supporting the floor or no longer doing that. Shelah is an excavating machine and has dug pits all under the cabin. In some cases she has dug out beside some of the blocks causing them to shift. It would take a real small person to be able to get under there and fix the damage. I've waited way too long to under skirt the cabin and I sure need to do that to keep her out from under there. I don't know where her next favorite place will be, but she had better start looking!
And lastly a cane that one of my friends (Melinda) gave me. It comes in handy at times when my leg is acting up. She also gave me a walker, but so far I haven't had to use it. I may add a fold down seat to it though and use it when I want to get out and look for artifacts again when the weather cools down. I should be able to do that and have a place to sit and rest my leg when it starts giving out.
LOL - you certainly cut your hair... :) But, I guess that's much neater and cooler.

ReplyDeleteWe now have one more thing in common...our leg giving out! It is not fun growing old. It was nice of Melinda you gift you the cane and walker. If you see her tell her I said hi.
You and Shelah try to keep cool...well at least I know she does too bad she is causing damage to your cabin in the process.
MsB, Melinda will be gone for a couple of months, but if my mind doesn't fail me I'll tell her when she gets back.
DeleteAs for Shelah I guess I need to build her a dog house up on blocks so she can hang out under it. She is going to have to get cut off from staying under or even getting under the cabin. Crazy damn dog!
Maybe you could get some help, jack up the cabin, replace the supports, and let it down easy. May take a few jacks. Have a party and tell everyone to bring a jack. . .
ReplyDeleteDD, I may just try to find some old screw jacks that can be slid up under there and then cranked up to replace the blocks that aren't doing anything. Problem will be finding them though. I think I may have one stashed in the tank somewhere. Good idea on the party though. I always did like parties. ;)

ReplyDeleteHey just bought a piece close to you ...nice piece of dirt! Behind the Legion. I have a place on 118 already 1/2 mile north of the Legion....wanted something a bit more remote.. Be there Oct 1-4 - hope to meet you.
BTW the Buzz looks good - just watch the ole noggin in the sun.
I'll probably be around Bernie O. If you are right behind the legion I hope you don't catch any buckshot from the skeet shoots.
