Oh Hell Yeah!

Just had another heart attack I'm all screwed up. Have PV from Agent Orange. What more can you ask for? I think this place and Vietnam have kicked my ass!

  5. A serious situation. I'm hoping your VA guys are on top of this. There is treatment, but like everything set to cure us, there are things that are a problem!
When you say "this place" are you talking about Terlingua? Or jsut life in general.
    I hope the latter.
    Best wishes.

  6. I am so sorry to hear that. Been wondering why you had not posted but figured you were spending time in Odessa and did not want to invade your privacy.

Are you in the hospital? I certainly hope you are. Sending positive vibes your way. If you can please update us. There are a lot of people out in the blogsphere that sincerely care about you and your welfare.

    Please take care.

  7. Forgot to click on notifications when I posted this so am behind on replies. For those who don't know PV stands for its Polycythemia Vera which is a blood disease that causes my body to make too much blood. I've been having to make monthly trips to Big Spring to have blood removed. Big Spring is 280 miles from here and the VA refuses to let me go to Alpine which is only 60 miles from here. They also don't pay travel pay so the trips are out of my pocket. Anyway they did finally figure out what my problem is and the infections in my legs stopped happening after they started taking blood. I've gone too long since I had blood removed trying to save money and that was what caused this latest problem. I blacked out and went down hard so with all the sharp rocks and so on I got cut up pretty bad.I think I also broke a rib in the fall.

  8. Take it easy and follow their suggestions if you can.

  9. Wasn't a heart attack after all. The pain is coming from at least one broken rib.

  10. Well hell, you are good to go!

  11. I was supposed to go to Big Spring at least once per month to have blood removed. That was usually between 500 and 1000 CCs. That is a lot of blood. The last time I was there they decided to make it every two months instead. It had been about 6 weeks when this happened. As near as I can tell I must have had some sort of seizure because of too much blood (Which has never happened before, but I hadn't gone that long between removals.) Hopefully I'll get some answers tomorrow. Anyway I was standing and have no memory of falling or getting back up. The next thing I notice that my arms were cut up, cuts on my head and now a black eye and several large bruises. The pain I was experiencing is at least one broken rib.

Now I find out about TIA when one woman told me about it. Sure looks like the cause, but I'll probably get that confirmed by the VA today.

  12. Mini strokes are managable but you have to go along with the treatments! Nothing worse than a real stroke that might put you in a nursing home with tubes for the next thirty years.

  13. True, but the doctor sort of ruled out TIA, but after ten vials of blood and a sonogram on my carotid arteries something should show up something.

  14. Thank you for the update and for telling us what PV stands for as I had no idea.

I am glad they ruled out TIA. The important thing is that you are being seen by the VA doctors. It is a shame though that you have to drive all the way to Big Springs vs Alpine.

    1. Had a broken rib in the fall and that was where the chest pain was coming from. I'm on the mend now, but it will take about 5 weeks for the rib to heal.

    2. So we have gone from Heart Attack to Stroke (TIA) to broken rib. You'll live...

    3. Considering I lost all memory when it happened and not knowing what happed it was an assumption on my part that the chest pain must be a heart attack. TIA could have been the cause, but there are several other things that could have caused it to. The VA doesn't know for sure what caused it because it took me so long to get there for the tests.

    4. You may have just fell down and hit your head hard enough to have a concussion. That will cause memory loss of the event including what immediately proceeded. Had one myself from a fall five years ago and still don't remember how it happened but I do know it was a fall of a ladder.

    5. I was standing on the ground and was stationary when it happened so chances of just falling over when it happened is slim. (Considering I wasn't drunk)

    6. You fell hard enough to break a rib. A concussion takes less force.

    7. Can't say I didn't get a concussion or not. Just saying that falling over while standing isn't likely. The doctor examined me pretty good to see if I might have had any brain damage if it had been caused by a stroke and ruled that out. (brain damage that is)

  16. Bernie, my chest/broken rib isn't quiet as painful as it was. The doc said it would take about 6 weeks to heal.

  17. Like a fool I have tried to get the other side of the story concerning Alex Hilliard. Simply because I do not like giving rumours any credence. But no. Down here on the Terlingua Ranch it is guilty-by-association rather than actual fact. What a joy it is to know Reason and Critical Thinking have no place here. I wonder, will the readers of this blog even understand those terms?

    1. Well Patrick, I don't have a problem with you and never have (I don't know you well), but when you showed up at the pavilion trying to start crap today and then showed up here on my property trying to start crap with a guest tonight the game changed. Do NOT come here again!
