Super Bowl Party / J Braun vs. POATRI

I think there will be some sort  of Super Bowl party at the Legion. Dave says there will be popcorn and probably chips and dip. If you're in the area and don't have a place to watch it then this could be the place.

Got this from Frann. This is BS and there was supposed to be a jury.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
LAWSUIT Update - J Braun vs. POATRI -
Judge entered a Directive Verdict based on lack of evidence to show fraud.
POATRI wins lawsuit.

  2. Yeah I forgot to add that. Its still BS! The people that are paying the fees picked up the tab for POATRI to fight the suit (Which was not in the best interest of the people they are extorting the payments from.)

  3. South Texas snow tonight?

The forecast is for 1-3 inches of snow, I love this weather, its so fun. Gee I like freezing my ass off (sarcasm). I wish it was 90 degrees outside with the full on South Texas humidity. That is what Im used too.

    Whats the lawsuit about???

  4. Yeah 90 degrees would be real nice. The law suit was over the high land owner fees and how they got that way.

High land owner fee's. I hope guys can file for an appeal. So if I was gonna buy land, you would not recommend Terlingua ranch? I see adds for land saying "no property owners association" and "no restrictions". Im assuming that would be the way to go?

  6. cc, There is land down here that isn't on the ranch, but I don't think there s a lot of it. If I knew what I know now when I bought and would have found someone that would finance the land then I'd have sure gone that way. Out of the $150+ a year fee they are supposed to maintain the roads. In most cases that is a joke because all they do is keep grading the roads deeper and turning them in the rivers when it rains. (If they've even touched them in years) When I got here I couldn't even get to my land because the road to it was over grown with mesquite, and tall grass. It was hard to tell there had ever been a road there. They are also supposed to keep all of the ranch facilities open for members to use and that hasn't been the case over the last year or so. In most cases most of it was shut down and its just now opening back up. The politics there are really screwed up and there is always some hot crap going on.

  8. 5" of snow on top of ice. 20 degrees with a wind chill of 9. Watching the traffic on the news is like a parking lot on Christmas eve. Snow plows are running on major roadways. I've never seen that im my lifetime here in Dallas area. Looking out my sons bedroom window upstairs you can't tell the street from the yard. Hope your staying warm down there. Just think about August and maybe you will at least feel warmer. More snow on the way here and looking for up to 8". I'll be a couch potato today for sure. Weldon just came down and said to say HEY! Stay warm pal.

  9. Nick, I went to bed about 8:30 because I got tired of putting up with the cold. Big mistake, because I must have started waking up about 4:00 and spent a lot of time under the covers thinking about dragging my butt out in the cold. Its now a heatwave at 6 degrees, but supposed to get around 40 today just before it starts plummeting again. For now there is enough sun to run the modem and I'm on the old computer again for now. Should have enough sun later to switch back to the other computer.

Tig, looks like we have you beat on the temp, but I sure don't envy you all the snow! Tell Weldon I said hi back. I'll be headed south about 9:30 to fill up the falcon and a couple of propane tanks. It was 42 degrees in here when I got up so could have been worse (especially at 4 degrees outside) Getting out to crank the generator before sun up was murder, but it only took 3 pulls to start it.

  10. Well at least you are going above freezing for a while, my frozen pipes would love that. Here in Athens, the last 29 or up was last Monday. Still beats -35 low and -10 high for a couple of weeks up in Montana.

  11. You're right BfA, its 32.1 now so I guess that makes it over freezing. Problem is it isn't supposed to get over 40 and that's real late today just before it starts dropping again. Oh well... I hear more of this crap is expected some time next week. As for the people up north they choose to live there so I wish they would keep this kind of weather up there. ;)
