Test / Cart / What Ever

Seems like blogger may be screwed up again with the lack of new blogs. I'll probably update this later if it actually posts.

Reason for the test is because the new blogs list failed to show up on my blogs I follow list. Last blog shown before I posted this was John Wells' blog from last night. Now that I've posted this several other blogs have shown up as being posted after this.

When I tried to reply to a comment on this blog all I got was a white screen and was unable to post a reply. I'd call that screwed up! Never fails that in trying to make blogger better they consistently make it worse!

Now speaking of John Wells I ran in to him at BBMI this morning. He clued me in on what a twin engine plane I spoke of on his blog comments a couple of blog back was doing around here. I speculated then that it might be Google updating the aerial views around here, but according to him the plane was dropping rabies vaccine to try and control the rabies in this area.  Of course John's blog is http://thefieldlab.blogspot.com/ Evidently the coyotes eat it and it keeps them from getting the virus??? I know at one time they dropped meat tainted with arsenic out of aircraft to just kill off the coyotes.

Above is the cart BudwiserKid gifted me from a few blogs back. (In the comment sections) It needs a good bit of work and I may be taking the V-Twin off of the trike to turn it in to a mini Hot Rod! Should be a real hoot! The engine is too large and won't readily fit so modifications will be called for.

Here is an Earth Bag springing up just off of 118 headed in to Study Butte. I'll try to get photos as it is built. I don't know the people building it or much about it. Will be interesting to see how this is all done.

  1. RJ, something strange going on as I can't post from Linux. Damn I hate computers!

  3. It looks like many blogs on this google blogger thing are having weird problems. It could be that new Mexican Midget Wrestling Virus going around (it attacks all the lower case characters in the blogger subroutines)

  4. Love the cart!

See the new earthbag house is also round - has no-one thought of giving the bags a wooden frame in order to make their bagged homes more conventional? (http://www.ecobuildtechnologies.com/ or http://www.ecobeam.co.za/)

David - are you having blogger problems because you've switched to bloggers new "reply" function - was thinking about doing that, but if it's faulty, really don't wanna create problems for myself... LOL

  5. I've also noticed that the only blogs that redirect to a blank page are the ones that have a new "reply" function.

  6. Dani, no I haven't changed any settings on my blog, but it seems like Blogger decides they need to do it for me. Amazing part is that Google is what's screwing me now and when I switch to Google Chrome I can post fine. Grrrr!

I was living in square and rectangle earth bag buildings 45 years ago while I was in Viet Nam. (Bunkers were all wooden frames with sand bags around the outside and even on the roof. I think the same as far back as WWII and maybe even the cavil war so making them round I'd say is just a preference??? Square would definitely be more user friendly. ;)

BB, If I can figure out how to change that then I will. I don't like Google Chrome at all.

  8. David - I only use Google chrome for blogging and general surfing.. IE for banking :)

  9. Dani, I only use Firefox and don't like IE at all. Of course I use Linux so IE doesn't work under it anyway. Unfortunately now I have to switch to GC just to be able to read comments and/or post replies so having the emailed comments helps a lot. Sort of makes me wonder if Google isn't trying to corner the market on blogging by not allowing Firefox and maybe some other browser users use those browsers???

    1. Changed to the new interface and now I can post using Firefox. Not crazy abou the new interface, but at least it MIGHT??? Solve the posting problem?????

  11. More than likely their idea is to get everyone to switch to the new interface. I bit the bullet awhile back and switched to Google Chrome just so Blogger would act right. With that switch everything works just fine. The price of Blogger.

    1. RJ like the old saying goes Nothing in life is free Blogger and all the other major sites and corporations are going to make $ off of you one way or another. Advertising or what ever you just never know what you are paying using their services until later.

  12. Crap! Just tried to use Firefox to read comments again and the damn problem is back. I had to switch to Google Chrome again. This is BS!

    2. Dani, for some strange reason I'm able to use Thunderbird this time??? I'd be afraid to change the code even doing backups. Don't want to take a chance on screwing the blog up more than it already is(Thanks to Blogger). On top of that when they do another update it would probably be screwed up all over again. Blogger and their damn down grades are really getting annoying!!!
