  2. lou, I'm not sure I'd ever heard it by him before either. Just happens that the song popped in my memory so I did a search and found that video. Don't know who originally sang it, but I know it is older then the hills. I'd always liked the song, but hadn't heard it in years.

  3. David, The weather there must really beat you down. Each morning I look forward to seeing what you have done at your place, or what problem you have overcome.

It seems that lately it's several days between posts and those are getting to be about like JW. We all want to see what you are doing with your new place, howcome you have not built a small swamp cooler for your 5th wheel. and tell us about the solar panels and how you have them hooked up.

Whats the deal with the Grub Shack is anyone going to open it up?

  4. RH, lack of $, Some lazy mixed in, as of late the place seems to have turned in to party central and now I'm sick. The high temps, added humidity and some times no wind at all isn't helping either. The work just isn't getting done so there isn't much to crow about. I need to finish painting, but we keep having fairly high percentages of rain chances so I don't want wet paint on it if it rains. Got about another 2/10th inch yesterday.

As far as swamp coolers go I don't plan on building anymore and hope to be using the refrigerated cooler by next summer, but that's another story yet to come.

Future plans are to build another battery hut close to the cabin so it won't cost so much for wire to run larger coper wire to the cabin to supply the added load. It will also make it easier to monitor battery state from in the cabin to cut down on hikes out to the hut to test the voltage. Then of course I'll have to move all the panels closer to the cabin to and add all the ones that aren't connected yet.

  5. Love Roy Orbison. My great claim to fame is he used to play touch football with us when I was just a little one living around Ft. Worth. He always made sure I got the ball sometimes. Real nice! And his girlfriend (that pretty woman you know) lived up the street!

  6. I think my older sister dated some of his band members. I knew a couple of them.

  9. No problem Jim,

For now we're getting torrential rain, lots of lightning, high wind and the wind is cold. Hope there isn't any hail on the way. Just saw my 5th lightning strike start a fire and the rain put it out afterwards. Storm and wind are coming out of the south so the trailer isn't rocking too bad for now.
