Spectacular Light Show

There was a spectacular light show looking out the front door of the cabin last night. No rain around here, but I sat in the door watching the show and trying to catch pictures of it. I guess something like 40 or so tries not even one came out so no pictures to post.

I saw 5 fingers of lightning going up in to the atmosphere instead of to ground. Three were side by side and fairly short and then a couple of longer ones at different times. I've never seen that before.

Had the power steering pump go out yesterday morning when I went to the bank to do legion business. I took it over to Gills earlier this morning and he should have that fixed buy some time Monday. At least I can drive the falcon on the ranch roads and to the legion and back in the mean time. I still need to register it.

  2. Yeah DD, I've been up close and personal a couple of times in a car. I've seen what it can do up close.

  5. Though I am afraid of lighting up close, I do enjoy it from the distance.

I can only imagine how beautiful it must have looked out your way with the rugged terrain as a background.

  6. I haven't tried in years, actually since getting a good digital camera. I imagine it's a lot easier with one of those, as my old film cameras you had to wait and see if you got anything. :) Plus with digital it doesn't cost anything to take hundreds of shots. So, BUNCH is right, but I have one card that I could probably take 2-3000 with. Still bet you see some out there that are more awesome than anything seen here. Did you see the thing about the super moon, on the 22nd of this month, I think. It's supposed to be closer, bigger, brighter, that sort of thing. Have a great day.

  7. Dale, had a good time out at the .... You'll know. We've been there before. (Got stuck for a brief time). That place and pictures from there will be the next post. Got 1/2 inch out of the storm after that so I have a feeling it may be tough to get in and out of there for a few days. (even with 4x4)

  9. MsB, I was doing spam removal on the comments and evidently marked one of your comments as spam by accident. That has been reversed. Sorry!

  11. MsB, if you subscribe to my blogs VIA email comments you know I get spammed a lot. Blogger seems to have a pretty good handle on removing spam from the blogs themselves but they don't do much for the email. I try to stay on top of spam, but guess I clicked Spam on the wrong comment.
