Things are Look'in UP!

Looks like its going to be a real nice day! (If the wind doesn't get up.)

Had to fudge some on the lighting picture to give about the actual lighting level in here with just the solar lighting. The camera without the flash was just way too dark. Actually it is lighter than that looks because I can actually read the clock fine and with the lap top screen and the solar lights I can see to type. (Although it isn't easy) I have a small 12 volt florescent light mounted just over the computer screen though so don't need the big light to type with that. Its runs off of the battery bank also.

  2. Yep, if the wind would stay down, but I knew that was too much to ask for. Its now windy as heck. I'll try to make the best of it though now that I'm back from Study Butte and had a fresh shower. Can't stay clean for ever I guess.

  3. At least your not sitting in a cold dark metal dungeon anymore.

I remember going into town 2 hrs away to get my weekly shower at the laundry mat in a small bush town in Alaska. sponge baths had to due during the week.

  4. I'm thinking about trying out one of the 7 gallon jugs on a solar shower. I have plenty of sheets of Lexan the right size to box it in and spare blue board for insulation. The jugs have spigots so I'd be able to reach up and regulate the flow or turn it on and off so it has the makings. I think I have some large PVC fittings at the storage so could drill a bunch of holes in a cap and use that for a shower head. I've got the studs I didn't use and tarps to cover the frame with when taking a shower so it would probably work. Wouldn't want everyone driving down 118 crashing and burning because of a nude man on the hill. ;)

  5. Good luck getting the shower put together. A hot shower is one of life's great pleasures. Be very careful about showering in the out of doors, though - you don't want to start a stampeed!

  6. Allen, after building the shelves and if I build the others I probably won't have enough lumber to build one. Will just have to see. Would be nice to have enough storage space in the back and a shower to though. I may figure something out and have both.
