Lucky Man

Most will remember Laurie. I put her up in the cabinet and forgot to do anything with her. As you can see from the picture of her she needs some re constructive surgery now. Today while I was taking a chicken carcass out to feed the coyotes I ran across the old horseshoe. I guess the good luck will catch up sooner or later, but maybe it already has? How much luckier can a person get having a great family and a lot of good friends.

  3. Dave, it sure helps to take a deep breath, sit back, and count our blessings from time to time, as it seems you've just done.

Thanks for the tip on the parcel of land you mentioned. I'd be interested to learn more about it. I have been checking on the POATRI.org website, under "For Sale By Owner", and have found a parcel I'm interested in. It's down closer to Study Butte, where I'd rather be. I don't have the money together right now to purchase anything, though. Maybe next year.

  4. Your horse shoe is upside down. All the luck will run out when mounted this way.

  9. My grandpa had horse shoes mounted on the doors to his workshop and garage. Of course they were mounted with the U upright. Good luck in all you attempt, but try to only attempt the right things (grin)

  10. So much for the good luck. Dropped the horse show while turning it over and it fell on my toe.

Frann, as you cover more ground there no telling what else might turn up.

Dani, Will rubbing the toe it fell on do the same thing? :)

DD, there was always a horseshoe nailed up above the garage door at the old home place, but I didn't remember which way it was turned.

Heck! I like to attempt stuff I'm not supposed to be able to do.

Disclaimer the story about the horseshoe falling on my toe was BS! ;)

  12. Nick, that's why I don't ride horses anymore. Matter of fact I try to stay away from them. I've hopefully been thrown, bitten, stepped on or kicked by one for the last time.
