More Filler

Nothing much to report here other than I've managed to talk to a few family members since I got the phone and that makes things a lot better. I went to bed last night feeling like warmed over death, but have felt better today. Nothing worth watching on the box since they don't broadcast the cowboy game around here so I did talk to a construction crew down here from Ft. Worth. Nice bunch of guys and they come from close to my last stomping ground. After that it was a shower and then I fired up the old Zoon (IPOD clone) and listening to a bunch if stuff that I like and tried to dodge the stuff I'd put on it for the X. I do listen to some of the stuff I put on it for the granddaughters though. I hate to admit that I'm starting to like Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and the likes, but HAY... Its something to listen to besides the single radio station around here. Can't wait until I get the new radiator where I can get out to the new land and start working on it.

  2. Can't a guy feel sorry for himself every now and then? You be right though. I think I've made more progress in this one week than I've made in the last two months.

And now I'll go back to rocking out on Fleetwood Mack (Stevie Nicks actually) Miley and Taylor are starting to get lame.

  5. I think it must be something bad. When I first got here I couldn't get my monitor to work as a TV, I couldn't find a radio station, I was bummed out because I couldn't get to the land and didn't have a telephone. This internet was down more than up to so I was desperate. At first I tried to ignore the singing and just listen to the lyrics (Pretty good), but that didn't work. Next thing you know I started to like the songs. By now I'm probably going to have to spend a few months in a nut house to get reprogrammed back to a normal old fart.

  6. Thanks Tammy, I'll try it, but as bad and slow as this internet connection is here I doubt that it will work.

  7. Since this is the filler post (nontopic):

What are your thoughts about the land in Hudspeth and Culberson counties? The land there is cheap - like $300 and up per acre. I know hudspeth is the 2nd lowest populated county IN THE COUNTRY.

  8. To borrow one of Billy Bob's saying Boy howdy this damn internet connection around here is really pissing me off!

But to answer the question I'd considered buying land in that area in years passed, but just never did. Glad I didn't really because it won't hold a candle to the beauty of this area. I worked around Van Horn for a good while and it just doesn't measure up to this place. I guess it would all depend on the area you could get the land in and what kind of access you would have to get in and out. I'd expect the same conditions you have around here. I guess its all a matter of preferences though.
