Dish

Reworked the internet dish by welding up a solid mount to mount it on. I'd had it jury rigged and the wind could move it enough to really give me fits. It won't effect the outages by power outages (not mine ,but the server is on grid) Its likely that if the dish moves now the dungeon is moving to though.

On another note the Ocotellos are starting to get a few buds on them and should be blooming before long. They are already blooming down near Study Butte.

Its 91.1 here in the dungeon at 6:54.PM.  (Not bad though)

Its WARM in here!

  1. have not found that tire size at any used tire shops here yet but they all say that they very seldom get them what u think about going with a diff size

  2. RN, they are mounted on very wide mags so the width will have to be the same. The height could be a little more, but if it was much taller then it would probably cause a clearance problem.

  3. were the stock wheels 7" wide? are you thinking one size up will be about all that would fit?

  4. will try to get there tue or wed send me a list of stuff or we can go to alpine to get what u need . do you need welding rods?

  5. RN, I think the stock wheels on falcons were 6 inch, but they may have been 7s? The mags the wide tires are on are 8 inch and Discount tire said they wouldn't put any narrower tires on it than the size of the one that blew out. I'd hate to have to scrap using the new mags because of clearance problems. They have worked both on the front and back, but getting a much taller tire might not work so well.

I still have plenty of rods and don't have a lot of iron left for other projects so probably won't be using a lot until I get some. One of the guys at the legion did tell me there is a place to buy any metal I need behind the tractor supply in Alpine and he said they also sell welding rods there so at least I know where to get the stuff when I need it.

Does that mean Raye is coming to? :)

  7. RN, I could use that radiator you have to use to make a 2 stage evap out of it. (Provided you don't plan to use it later. I could use another couple of barrel halves.

  8. Howdy Unc,

Sounds like yall are getting things moving in the right direction now. Glad it's not that unbearable in the dungeon. That would be a bad thing if your dish starts moving now, I can't imagine what kind of wind it would take to move the dungeon around, much less be in it. I'll be checking here for your size tires but it probably won't be till Wed, that's my next day off. Do you have stock size rims you could use in the mean time, to have usable tires on the Falcon? In case the others are harder to find? We can call DT and see if your in the computer for the blowout tire as well. Have a good day.

  10. Dale, because I put disc brakes on the front I can only use stock rims on the back. I don't even have any of those anymore. I do have a couple of Keystone mags that I can have tires put on though. (which is likely what I'll wind up doing.)

  14. David, I've got a 19x31 aluminum with a small leak laying around, if your not going to put much pressure on it. Could probably epoxy the leak and make it work. Dennis

  15. Dennis, that would work, but would actually be larger than I need. The one RN is bring down here is the one that was in the old 64 falcon I gave him way back when. I think it was a stock radiator and should do good for what I intend to use it for. He intends to make a dragster out of it some day and would probably put a larger radiator in it when that happens. As usual thanks for the offer.
