The NYE 2010 Party / NY 2011 after Party Party

The party went over good, but a lot of people didn't show up. Some showed up pretty late and I guess all total there was probably around 40 or maybe more there. Nick showed up and did some singing and playing the guitar later on. No one got out of line during the party and I think everyone had a great time. Nick, JustMe (Julianne), Dave Secor, RN, Sunny, Zano, James the surveyor and myself came back to the trailer and sat around outside by a fire BS'ing until it got too cold (until well after midnight) Then came in and watched a movie until the inverter cut out. I tried to start the charger and had problems when it over revved and threw the belt. Some of us got out and tried to find it, but never did so that pretty well shut down the party here around 3:30 or so. Nick had left a t-shirt for me in the It'll Du and suggested I change the name of the It'll Du to the name of the tavern on the shirt. I think I'll pass on that though. It doesn't have a pocket so I may use it for a flag?

All I can say to those who left from the Legion early is you missed one heck of an after party party.
T-Shirt Nick left in the It'll Du.

  4. Wish we could have bend there, Dave. Glad y'all had a great time. You should post a pic of that t-shirt. What was the movie? Did y'all ever get to see the end of it?

Best of luck with everything in the New Year. Hope it's a great one for you.

Glad everything worked out for the party. You should consider having a party (make up an excuse) sometime in the late spring/early summer before the heat sets in. Maybe Cinco De Mayo or Jack Daniels Birthday? Better yet, create your own holiday.

  9. Nick, I don't remember whether you were there or not? ;) Hope you have a safe trip back to Florida!

Jen, it was great having a bunch of friends there and here to. Wish more could have made it! I may make this an annual event.

DD, DLS, MsB, ~mc~, and the rest. Happy New Year to you'll to.

    Allen H,
I added a picture of the t-shirt as you suggested. The movie was The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada thanks to Frann for lending it to me. Nick, JustMe and DLS made it back last night to finish watching the movie and Bigfoot, Littlefoot and Bigfoot's nephew came back over so the rest of us watched the whole movie over. Didn't have any trouble with the charger other than it finally ran out of gas, but not before all, but the Foot family who left after that movie watched another one all the way through. I don't remember the name of that one? JustMe supplied it.

cc, I think one party a year is more than enough for me. BTW John Wells didn't make it and I hear he was still under the weather so it was probably best that he didn't. A good number of the people that showed up late weren't people that had been invited. They just saw all the cars and stopped in. I'd imagine they made up a good third of the people that were at the party.

My heater broke late so I had to fire up the oven and keep the door to it open to try and keep it half way comfortable in here until everyone left. I crawled out of the sack at 4:30 this morning with it being 42 degrees in here and relit the oven to warm it up. Its 10:45 now and still hasn't made it up to 70 degrees yet. Looks like I'm going to have to jury rig the heater to get it going again!

  11. Frann, I think everyone that watched it liked it. RN laughed so hard a few times I thought he was going to bust a gut. ;)

  12. Oh... don't know what was left over or what happened to the leftovers since all the food was left behind. I'm sure it probably went to a good use though.

  13. Man I am sorry to have missed the party. Probably would have missed it even if I'd been able to be there since I was sick from before Christmas to NY day. Looks like a great time was had by all.

  14. D Rose, maybe you can attend the next one (If there is one) Everyone keeps telling me I need to make it an annual event? Maybe I will. Sorry you couldn't make it, but sorrier that you've been sick. Hope that doesn't last much longer!

  16. Abby, now that I learned at the meeting while ago that the party was a Legion function. (Could have fooled me) I'll make sure the next one is here and only a few invited. ;)

  17. You must have misheard me. I said it was not advertised because it was not a legion function.

  18. DLS, I know what you said. It was Zano that came up with the Legion Function BS you just tried to get it straight.
