Early Morning Fun (NOT)

Ring came down Monday and brought a new motor for the charger and it turns out to be a real good thing. We got that changed out yesterday and after all the cloudy to partly cloudy days I was in bad need of it. Solar just wasn't cutting the mustard. Now I'd also failed to check the watter in the batteries and they aren't holding voltage near as long as they should be. I did top the batteries off yesterday also, but they are still loosing voltage way to soon. That caused me to wake up at 3:40 AM to go fire up the charger because the inverter had cut out. I've had the charger running for about an hour and will run it for another hour and then MAYBE I can get some more sleep.

We also got the two new/used tires I'd bought from Gill on the falcon and I also bought a spare from him so I hope to be driving it again pretty soon. In the mean time the Jeep is doing real good after Gill worked on it. Maybe I'll show the trike some attention before long. We took it out to the swimming hole and I intended to take the camera, but forgot it so no pictures from there.

  1. I always forget my camera when I come accross some really good things to take pictures of. Then, too, I have had my camera in my pocket and not taken a picture of something that I later wish I had. Is that a sign of getting old??

  2. DD, age may have something to do with it, but that affliction started with me years ago. I was hoping it would improve with age. ;)

  3. We get busy and always the last thing we forget is the camera, this happens in our home all the time.

Glad to hear you've got tires on your Falcon and your getting ready to start running it around.

  4. Sandy, I'm pretty sure a lot of people have that trouble. Probably more than not. ;) I'll make it back there before long though and vow to take the camera.

  6. Glad to hear that both cars are coming along. I too forget to take my camera...that darn CRS syndrome :(

How far is the swimming hole from your place?

  7. Pablo, my mom bought the falcon new in 1968 so even if it was a total wreck I wouldn't sell or junk it. I've had a lot of offers over the years to sell it, but that ain't going to happen.

MsB, The swimming hole is probably about 7 or 8 miles from here. You at least need a high clearance vehicle to get to it though and 4 wheel drive is much better.

  9. Ms B, Agua Fria I know you know what that means. Summer is the best time to go because the water is COLD! ;) Its a favorite hangout in the summer for a lot of folks.

    1. I figured the place was true to its Spanish name of cold water and what a great treat that would be for folks in the area with the brutal summer temperatures and heat indexes.

However I said "not summer" because I can only get there in the fall or winter months. Well I could drive there in the summer but I have found in my old age that heat and I do not get along.

  10. I ve been arround there in person over 10 years, never heard about the "swimming hole" unless its calle Agua Fria which if so i ve heard but did not put too much attention. When there in june (rental car low clearance) i will contact yu as said before and might want to go if that car might enter those roads. Or i ll get a drawing map from yu fur future trips. VERY INTERESTING
