Chance of Rain?

There was a chance yesterday, but no rain. Looks like there is a good chance for the next 6 days, but that doesn't mean there will be any!

Zune play of this thread

You Were Always On My Mind sang by Willie Nelson

The eX and I used to argue over this song every time I played it. She would get furious saying that only Elvis should have sang it. I prefer Willie Nelson. How about you?

And for good measure...

Heard it in a Love Song by The Marshall Tucker Band

Played this a lot before I left.

  5. No rain here just in all directions. I guess if you consider a few dozen drops rain then it did rain here.

  6. Willie on that one, hands down! Don't want to irritate anyone's ex, but I've never been an Elvis fan. Always thought Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, and others were much better early rockers. Elvis seemed a little too polished and even a bit girly.

Funny thing, been listening to some 70s MTB just recently as well. Carolina Dreams is a good late night desert highway album. Great band with all the original members. Try "Fire on the Mountain" from the Searchin' for a Rainbow album--a personal favorite.

I've been enjoying your blog (along with JW's). I respect what you and others in that area are doing as far as carving out new lives for yourselves, mostly on your terms. By the time I make it out you'll have the whole place civilized!

  7. PS- And I meant "civilized" in the don't go too far with it ways:)

  8. Civilized? Me... Never! I like MTB well.

  9. Hey, my wife and I just had our latest argument today about moving out your way in a few years. She likes civilization! I still have some time to wear her down! I've spent the past five plus years simplifying, streamlining, and getting educated on off-grid living. The problem is that it's been a solo effort. While I've been going through a mental transformation over several years, she's still where she's always been and has little interest in such a life. I do remember you mentioning something about the difficulties of couples who are not of one mind in such a move.

  12. When I get the whorehouse up and runnin, Im gonna Willie to play there. I will just ask Willie Nelson, have you ever played at a Whorehouse before?

    (He probably has)

Whiskey river take my mind, get off my momory. Whiskey dont be unkind.

I would get Johnny Cash (he would be first on my list but he's dead)

  13. I screwed that one up bad its "Whiskey river take my mind. Get her off my memory.

Almost forgot, I got a chunk of money in. Anyway to find out who owns the land where the whorehouse is at?

and how the accessibility to the area, not the whorehouse itself, but the general area?

    any info would be appriciated.

  14. MsB, Looks like 5 for Willie including myself and none for Elvis. I wonder where all of the Elvis fans are? Not to say I don't like some of Elvis' songs I'm just not and never have been a fan.

CC, maybe Frann or Denese knows who owns that property or how to find out. Its in their neighborhood and about 30 miles from me so not much chance of me finding out. The whorehouse is probably about 2 miles directly north of 170 and could probably be gotten to like that by horse or donkey? I don't think you'd get there by vehicle (unless a quad would make it). You can get close by going up the draw, but from that point it would be foot or animal. I wouldn't want to try it on foot though. Its extremely rugged and brushy terrain.

  17. It's Willie's fault I ended up married. Our first date was spent listening to my now-x's Willie album collection, and we went to a concert a couple of weeks after that. Emmy Lou Harris opened for him. Willie for love songs, Elvis for more high energy. Started to say 'rock', but I don't really think of Elvis that way, either.
