Morning Coffee

Made myself a pot of coffee this morning and I can't remember the last time I did that. Just got out of the habit when the weather started getting hot. Anyway... The morning was fairly cool after a hot night so coffee sounded good. Of course I have my on method of making coffee. (see below)
Picture 1 (Not counting the number) I heat the water in the pan. Then I pour the hot water in the glass Mr. Coffee type pot. and set two hacksaw blades across the top of the pan and set the coffee/filter holder on them over the pan. I then pour the hot water through the filter. (coffee made)

Now Picture 2... Before I left Plano I was in a supermarket one time and on the coffee isle to get coffee. A woman reached over and got a canister of Nestle's quick with mini marshmallows like in the third picture and showed it to me. She said she put a couple of table spoons of it in her coffee each morning and it was great. I decided to try it and each morning I'd save my last cup of coffee just for that. Some time I'd even shoot some whip cream on top. Down here I can't get the canisters either with or with out marshmallows or for that matter even packets with the marshmallows in them so have to settle for the stuff without it. I've tried a lot of different brands, but NOTHING measures up to that type Hot Coco Mix. Some of my guest like to also add the powdered creamer with it, but I usually don't. BTW the bottom of a canister in picture three was from the same type canister as the one next to it. Pepper got a hold of it and scattered all of the parts I had in it from where she got it to her lair. That is all the remains of the canister.

And on a side note the Dragon Slayer made her first kill.  She also made another kill on one of my heavy duty extension cords. :(  I went to take a shower and found the wire I usually plug the charger in to when I take a shower mangled in three different places. Unfortunately since one of them was next to the head it is useless now! (Can't be fixed.) Needless to say she got her butt beat with it!

  1. I'm a coffee junky and also make myself hot choclate in the evenings. I will have to try it. I can't wait to get my dog to the desert full time she loves it.

  2. That coffee sounds tasty. Pepper needs some bones and stuffed animals to call her own so she doesn't play with YOUR toys ;)

  3. Abby is right - puppies need to "grind", to "rip and tear" and to "chew". Looks like that extension cord took care of at least 2 of those needs. The rip and tear function was somewhat abated by them shop towels a coupla weeks back! Next up - the tires of the Falcon! And after that....dog heaven.

  4. Next time I am in a store that sells pet supplies I'll try to find her a toy, but for the bones? She takes them out and hides them, (evidently from herself to) because they are never seen again. I've never found one in any of her lairs or anywhere else for that matter. If I put one in here by her bed she won't touch it until the next morning when I open the door and its out the door with it never to be seen again.

And yes... if she ever screws up anything on or in the falcon that will be the straw that broke the camel's back!

  5. You did what??? No, you didn't. I remember one time Lug Nut was dig'n out the fence to go to the "Mexican Bar" down the street to go play a few games of pool and dance with the little girl dogs. I caught him red handed and swaked him atwix the eyes with a pair of klines what was lay'n on the ground. He thought it was funny and started a new dig an hour later. So, it does no good to "beat" your best friend just for being a dog.
Good luck with Pepper. I think luck is your only choice.

  8. BB, she isn't a dog she is a hemorrhoid.

    I, its a tarantula

frann, I think I'll tie her up next to a special cord packed with 30,000 non lethal volts of electricity and see if that gets her attention. Just need to get a solar fence charger first.

  9. Heh, all 3 of my girls closed their mouth over a live power cord ONCE and only once (as puppies) and never touched another cord of any kind to this day. If she has something she shouldn't, say NO and take it away, and immediately hand her something appropriate and praise like crazy. She'll get it.

  10. Abby, every time she has chewed up a cord or anything else she wasn't supposed to I wasn't around her to do anything about it. (except for the paper towels and I was asleep at the time) Same for her packing stuff off. In the morning when I let her out is always when she pulls that crap and I'm not out there at the time.
