My attempt to make it to my 10 acres in Terlingua Ranch and make a go of living on it. From the start it hasn't gone good at all, but I'm hopeful things will turn around!

Scalping Party
Only in Terlingua and probably at the Legion would such a party happen? A few days ago while a bunch of us were there I told Sunny I could use a hair buzz since she had been known to buzz hair there before. Just Me heard me say that and chimes in that she could use one to. Well Dave heard that and said he could use a buzz to and then Just Me (Julianne) said lets have a hair cutting party. Everyone there agreed and it was held last night.
Nick not only did most of the buzzing (Dave did Just Me's), but him and Just Me provided entertainment. Julianne on the banjo and Nick on the guitar. (See video below)
The Three Victims
Right to Left (Julianne, Dave & Myself)
Julianne provided a big pot of awesome spaghetti and garlic bread while Marian provided chips and some great dip. I provided another pan of whiskey fudge.
Glad you liked it DD. Sorry the video was so grainy, but the camera is OLD. I could have made it better by zooming in, but making that video was a spur of the moment decision and I just forgot the zoom.
MsB, they're talking about starting a music appreciation night at the legion so maybe we will start seeing more of Nick again?
As far as the word verification deal I don't see anyway around the new BS without disabling it and I don't want to have to start battling spam bots. Sooner or later that is coming.
Was fun GJ. Looks like there will be a St. Patrick's Day party at the legion now. Not sure if it will be on that Friday or maybe Saturday instead? I plan to make some Irish whiskey fudge using white chocolate and dye it green. ;)
Hello all, Uncle David had asked me to keep him posted on this so here's my news. I wanted to share some good news! I had my two oncologist appointments yesterday, my treating Dr. said my blood work was excellent and there have been no change. Then went to my specialist oncologist, gave him the labs from the first, he checked me over and said everything looks the same. He then proceeded to tell me that I wasn't bad enough to continue coming to see him. So, I will now only see my original oncologist until the need should ever arise that I should need to be treated. We're hoping for that part not to be needed, but the specialist said I have treatment options, so things are looking good there. My original oncologist did say that the longer we wait for treatment, treatment wise, the better I'll be, so I'll let this cancer sit and do nothing for as long as it wants, then we're going to kill it with extreme prejudice! Hope yall have a great day!!

ReplyDeleteHad not heard Nick's name in a long time. Enjoyed the short musical video.
Tffn you still have the two fuzzy word verification :(

S'funny how much more alert one feels after a haircut, dontcha think? Almost as though the cutting gets rid of the cobwebs :)
ReplyDeleteIt does change a person's outlook Dani. I almost ditched the beard to, but I thought that was a little too much. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe things I miss out on... Thanks for sharing the pics and video!
ReplyDeleteAbby, perhaps you should hold on to your land. You never know when things might turn around for you. Wish you could have been here.
