ReplyDeleteYou are so right Tffn, this is the perfect song for someone exiled very far away from the main stream.
ReplyDeleteBack when I did not have a care in the world and would get to the chili cook-off ten days in advance and then stay a couple of days after the event, I so enjoyed listening to this song.
Even now I love to listen to it with the hope and dream that one day I too will be a thousand miles to nowhere preferably in Terlingua, Texas.
MsB, hope you can realize your dream some day.
ReplyDeleteWow a very young Dwight, and could he wear his pants any tighter?! I always loved this song too.
ReplyDeleterepsychallblues, I've never been a Dwight fan and didn't even know who sang that song until someone told me a few days ago. I always liked the song though. After listening to the lyrics beside just listening to the music I came up with the phrase for this thread.
ReplyDeleteYep, that's one of my favorite Dwight Yoakam songs.Describes Turdlingua to a T.
