A little late, but HAPPY NEW YEAR!
First off power outage, propane out, no Gas.
Trying to make lemonade out of a lemon.
Lee was going to shut down the legion until the power is back on which could be as late as Tuesday, but I talked him in to letting Judy open it up and use the ice that will be going to waste to ice down the beer to sell. Judy made more $ for the legion without power yesterday than she did last Thursday with power. She has also gotten one of her friends coming in today at 3:00 to do haircuts for anyone needing one. I suspect they will be free or for donations.
Had some of the wild donkeys pay me a visit and Shelah didn't like all those damn big dogs coming on her turf. Fortunately she didn't get close to them and only barked a lot. They didn't pay no never mind to either of us.

Those wild donkeys sure make themselves at home.
ReplyDeleteYeah they do DD.
DeleteI sure am sorry that you guys are without electricity but since many of you have solar you can deal with the lack of it.
ReplyDeleteHowever, not being able to gas up especially if you had an emergency and had to hit the road...that is a real problem! Heard a couple of days ago that there was no gasoline in Alpine or Fort Stockton but do not know if that is still the case.
Keep warm. Loved the baby donkey pictures.
Internet and phone have been out here until about an hour ago. Three days without either is bad news!
DeleteYou guys sure made lemonade out of lemons! Glad it was profitable. Loved the humor BYOC....:D
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
I hear there is gas in SB now, but power is still out. They are pumping using a generator. Too bad it doesn't work with the propane pump!
DeleteWhy is there no propane?
ReplyDeleteNo power to run the propane fill station.
ReplyDeleteSeems that a propane place would have a propane generator.
DeleteIt is also very possible to fill cylinders directly from tanks using pressure difference alone. Farmers and ranchers do it all the time.
Deleterj, their generator is a big diesel generator, but it only serves the store at best I think. Don't know why they don't have one for the propane. I know they partially fill cylinders before they turn the pump on, but the pump tops them off.
ReplyDeleteHopefully they'll get power back for that before you need propane again.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope so Dale. That would be a throw back to staying in the Dungeon without propane.
ReplyDeleteAh, memories!!! lol
ReplyDeleteYeah bad memories.
