  1. Those are just beautiful! Have never seen cactus blooms as large as the pink ones. They're all just gorgeous. Thank you for the showing us what mother nature has been up to out that way.

  2. Rita B., soon there will be some really tasty fruit under those flowers. Problem will be beating the birds and rodents to the fruit and getting past the small painful thorns on the fruit. They taste a lot like kiwi fruit and make good jam and wine.

  3. Keep that up with the rain, greenery and flowers and all the folks from California will be moving there, jack up the taxes to install water lines from east Texas and then start their reality shows from your place..

    1. rj, unfortunately a lot of what you say is already happening. There is already a reality show being filmed from down here and the people you speak of are already at the gates.

  4. Most colorful I've seen since I've been down here. DD. Of course the other crap is the same though. Like the high wind all night last rattling the roof and everything else that can make noise around here. Made for a lousy night.

    1. Sandy, there are a lot of different cactus on this property, but unfortunately with my game hip walking to get pictures of them is out as is. I pucked up a set of crutches and want to see just how much they will help. Of course some of the terrain around here will be tough to handle with crutches though.

  6. The desert looks beautiful this year thanks to all the rain you guys have had.

Thought of your roof the other night when we were experiencing high winds, sorry it made for a lousy night.

A reality show in Terlingua? It was bound to happen sooner or later :(

    1. MsB, At least I got the roof coated and don't have leaks anymore. Judy one of the eX bartenders at the legion did that for me as well as under pinning the cabin. Now Shelah the dog has a very large, fully enclosed dog house. She likes tight quarters above her so she's a happy mutt now.

Yeah, but I don't think anyone down here likes the thought of Reality shows down here and now I've heard there are two in the works. :(

  8. With the legion being as it is it will be hard to meet people or should I say the right kind of people. Now days people usually meet up at one neighbor's place or the other for a party. Damn shame because the legion used to be the hangout.
