Went to brunch at Bill & Caren's place this morning and not only got a good meal out of the deal, but had a good visit and took the above pictures from their back porch. The pictures don't do it justice though. That's one of those places you would have to see first hand to get the full beauty of it. Its real hazy today as well as humid. The haze didn't help the pictures any and the humidity isn't helping the evap much either. The dungeon is staying some cooler with the shade tarp on it despite less cooling from the evap.
The Below pictures were taken by my neighbor Robert Dawson on the night of the barn collapse. They sure appear to show some tornado activity to me and him both. Looks like some small parental tornadoes.
And some more flower shots by him to.
And finally a small rattler that got caught by one of his rat traps.

Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSure does look like a wall cloud in a couple of those pictures. A tornado usually forms at the pointed end and rain at the other end. The second storm picture shows a typical wall cloud. If there were no tornados, there sure could have been.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are beautiful. Hope the humidity drops for you and you can get the evap unit cooling the dungeon.
nice pics as usual!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics. Unlucky rattler.
ReplyDeleteBreath taking pictures...except for the last one :-(
ReplyDeletefrann, with the bad comes the good. (Or is that the other way around?)
ReplyDeleteDizzy-Dick, All I know is there was some really weird stuff going on that evening and some really strong wind. We may never know for sure whether there were tornadoes or not, but I'm convinced there was.
OGT, wish I'd have taken them all.
pipsqeek, more than likely the rattler was sniffing out a rodent that had been killed in the trap and got a dose of its on by tripping the trap. I guess that's what they call PAY BACKS? ;)
MsB, I guess the last one could be breath taking to. :(
And on another note there was the Grand Reopening of the legion tonight. Bill & Caren were there and Just Me made a showing to along with a few more friends and new acquaintances. Good grub and a good time. I'd told the Crawfords about it and we were hoping they would show, but they didn't.
That sure looks like a funnel cloud dropping down in that pic with the ladder on the left. I guess you'd be pretty safe in the dungeon if one came your direction. And Pepper would protect you too. Riiiiiiiiiight.
ReplyDeletePepper runs from whirl winds. I can only imagine what she would do in case of a tornado. I probably wouldn't see her for a month.

ReplyDeleteoops!
ReplyDeleteShhhhh
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are wonderful ... even the one of the dead snake :)
ReplyDeleteFunny how people delete messages they posted, but anyone subscribed by email still get the messages. ;)
ReplyDeleteMC, that isn't a dead snake. its a unicorn someone cut the horn off of. Its also real pleasant here. Believe either one of those statements you like, but they're probably both FALSE!
You could rename the dungeon..call it a sweat lodge! Maybe hold ceremony's and invite tourists and go native.
ReplyDeletedid that wind blow your internet away?
ReplyDeleteNo OGT, RN came down and then I had a bad fall Sunday night and haven't felt like doing anything on here. Mater of fact I may not be doing anything for a good while now. I just updated the blog now.
