Pepper / Athena Update

I walked out the door yesterday afternoon and about the time I got down the steps Pepper walked around the corner of the trailer and as soon as she saw me the tail started wagging and she assumed her usual position of rolling over on her back for me to pet her belly. She has grown a good bit and has lost the limp from her accident of falling out of the back of a moving pickup. I enjoyed the visit, but didn't have anything to feed her like I have in the past. I did have water out for when Frann comes over and Kinky needs water though. Pepper seemed to be pretty thirsty after her trip.

I enjoyed playing with her for a while, but when I quit giving her attention she laid at my feet and took a short siesta before getting up and heading off toward the south. That wasn't the direction of her new home and I knew the reason she was here was because her new family wasn't home. I decided to take her to the legion and chain her up there until her new family could pick her up there because I didn't want her out running around alone to get attacked by coyotes or maybe get run over on 118. I see her at the legion some times on the weekend when her family is there.

It was good to spend some quality time with her knowing I didn't have to keep her. ;)

  2. I guess not Frann, The new owner says Pepper adores me and I guess she does. She seems very happy to see me any time I'm around her. We are both better off with her being somewhere else though. I don't stay pissed off all the time and she has kids and other dogs to play with.

  3. Glad to hear she's doing good and the limp wasn't long term. Wish you'd have gotten a new picture of her too. Have a great day!

  5. Dani, I don't have a dog's life, but she does so I'm glad for her. She is sort f like my eX though and likes to keep in touch.

Dale & Andy, I'll get a picture or two the next time I see her.

  6. Unc, here's an update from my latest Dr. visit.

Nothing of note from the PET scan, comeback in three months, rescan in 6. The place on the right side of my groin I was concerned with showed no change, yes!!! There were some slight changes, but like the Dr. said, nothing of note. So I will happily go the next six months knowing that. I don't know if I'll ever be cancer free, but I'll take the victories as I can get them. Thanks for all of your thoughts, prayers, emails and calls of encouragement, you will never know how they help us keep going. Have a great day and better tomorrow.

You and Unc Ring have a great time out there, get something done besides playing on the bike and four wheelers, ;-)

  10. Dale, thanks for the update. Still thinking lots of Happy Thoughts.

    D Rose, Wouldn't mind having a dog's life either. ;)

Frann, No problem on that and it helped me get the stuff for my projects to. Will be interesting to see how the sky scraper you're working on now turns out. Sort of like a two story tree house with without a tree. :) RN pulled out at straight up 9:30 and I've been pretty busy since then working on the battery hut, replacing the lost lugs on the falcon, Hooking up the Coleman electric ice chest to the old battery bank (to see if it will work for me to have a fridge) and a few other odds and ins. Just taking a break now that its after noon. You do know what that means don't you? Especially since its the weekend.
