Crud!

Yep... seems I have it. Been feeling like warmed over death for three days now. To add insult to injury the humidity has been much higher than normal and the days over 100 degrees with little to no wind. Got to 104 here yesterday and was only supposed to get to 102. Its supposed to get to 104 today so I guess that means it will get to 106. The flies and especially gnats are many and relentlessly pester the crap out of a person. They fly in your mouth, fly up your nose, fly in to your eyes and generally pester the crap out of you.

Are you real sure you'd like to live down here?

    2. Yep I remember DD. I also remember you thinking about selling out and moving down here. Bet you're glad you didn't. ;)

  3. All your effort should go to the AC and insulation...

  4. Got the AC and the solar to run it. Don't have the insulation or the $ to buy it, the drywall and other stuff I need. Best I can do is try to get the cabin far enough along where I can enjoy it next summer. Perhaps enjoy the warmth of it before winter is over to?

  5. There was a four hour power outage (Maybe more) this afternoon so I suspect there were a lot of miserable on gridders down here to. Got to 106 here and not much wind for most of the day.

I will have to say the full moon looks great though.

  6. Hope you get to feeling better. If I ever get to move there it would only be in the fall and winter months.

Guess I would be mad as heck if I was on the grid and then power went out on a day like this.

When I was outside this evening I thought of how beautiful the moon must have looked tonight in my favorite desert.

  7. We had a fly problem and doing research found a good solution...HAIR SPRAY...it makes their legs stick together and they fall to the ground.

  8. MsB, I'm starting to feel a little better. Fall and winter months wouldn't be bad nor would spring. Problem down here is that neither the fall or spring seasons last long. Seems like maybe a couple of weeks each.

  9. Hope you get rid of whatever has you down soon.

Hot is getting to be the norm all over Texas as of late!

  10. HJ, feeling a little better all the time. It was 110 about an hour ago, but its down to 108 now. At least there's a breeze and the humidity is down to 8% now.

  11. Captain, is there anything we should be doing towards reducing the risk of fires? Cutting the creosote?
