Think Happy Thoughts!

My nephew Dale (and follower of this blog) once again has early stages of cancer. He is a cancer survivor from several years back. Unfortunately he'll have to go through chemo again this time to. There is some good news to this though and that is that the doctors are confident that they can take care of the problem. I'd ask for your Happy Thoughts, Chants, Prayers or what ever you might do as support. We want to keep him around for a LONG LONG TIME!

And a Happy Note.
Occasionally you can catch this rig at the legion. Its owned by a local veterinarian who trained the two ponies to pull the buggy. Its said that the ponies are half brothers and one likes a beer occasionally, the other one is a T-Totaler  so I guess he's the designated driver. ;) The buggy has brakes on all four wheels, head and tail lights, bucket seats, stereo and I'm not sure what else. I've been wanting to do a thread on this rig, but never seem to have the camera when its down there. The above photo by David Secor.

Update

The Septic system will be installed tomorrow at the Legion. For now the equipment is parked between the RV and the Legion and is blocking the internet signal so... I'm at the legion doing this.

  7. Scavenger, I would echo the same remarks, Unc, make sure to take care of yourself too! Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. I feel better knowing what I have and can now concentrate on treatment and getting rid of it. I was surprised to be told this is not a recurrence of what I had before, non hodkins lymphoma, to what I have now. It's long name is nodular lymphocyte predominant hodgkin's lymphoma. I've found they use the abbreviation NLPHL, and it's only found in 5% of all hodgkin diagnoses. It's a very slow grower and they said this makes it easy to kill. The good side is it has a better than 90% cure rate, but with chemo and possibly radiation, that's the bad part. I'm scheduled for a PET scan this coming Sat, and see the doc again next Wed., for bone marrow check, staging and treatment options. I will keep yall posted, either myself or through Unc. Thanks again for the support.

  13. Don't know if this info is correct or not since the guy that told me said he THOUGHT there was going to be a Pizza and Salad supper at the Legion starting at 6:00 this evening. I haven't heard anything about it before now, but stuff like this seems to slide by unknown by me & many others a lot. Guess I'll be there to find out. If it is supposedly the cost will be $5.00. Pizza sure sounds good to me!

  14. Hope ya got your pizza, I know that's one of the things we talked about not being very available out there. Had the scan done today, will know results at Wed Dr. appointment. They'll stage my cancer and we'll talk about treatment then too, so now some more waiting to do. Hope all have a safe and enjoyable weekend!

  15. Dale, It was pretty good. I think it was called fried pizza or something like that. The bread was fried I guess and then pizza sauce poured over it and then mozzarella cheese over that. Was for sure worth $5 and a good meal.

I'll probably start a new thread shortly, but expect you to keep us updated along the way.
