Blog Blog Blog

The bad part about these Blogs that I've found is that those leaving comments can't edit their posts, can't cut and past from another source in to the blog and as of yet I haven't found a way to change the order in which comments are shown. On forums you can do all three. A lot of times I'll compose my messages to my forums through notepad or even the email client for spell checking and when finished then I cut and paste the text in the Blog editor. Can't be done with the Blog.

Oh well.... I guess the good part is that they are free.

No new news about the land or getting moved to it. Its too far away from pay day.

  1. another good part is that I figured out how to have your blog open with the current post, rather than from your first post. or maybe you did that. it is better. are you sliming and jbwelding the falcon? will you get a picture of her before she succumbs? maybe jw will bring his camera to the grub shack and help you out...

  2. Just doing what I got to do until I can get a new radiator. Duct tape doesn't work on a radiator too good.

  3. I have no problem with cut and paste in the editor. A lot of times I compose using note pad and later paste it to my blog.

  5. Billy Bob, maybe you are using Vista instead of XP or its just this computer I don't get the option to paste even though the text is in the clipboard. BTW the thing that sucks about this RV park is that the internet keeps bugging out. This will be the 5th time I've tried to post this (having to type it in each time)

  6. Just tried it on John's blog and it worked. Then tried it here and it worked. I had something pop up about having to stay logged in on the NEW Blog so when I did I guess that took care of it.

  7. Tffnguy- had seen your posts on the Field Lab but it wasn't until the other day that I saw your blog name on Billy Bob's site.

After reading from the beginning the name you chose for your blog seems more than appropriate. I am sorry to hear about all the things that have happened since your arrival but hang in there. I am sure in a couple of months you will look back and laugh it off.

I don't presume to know your economic situation but it seems that you are probably paying a pretty penny to stay where you are at. I don't know if you are aware that the Terlingua Chili Cook-off will be starting here shortly. A lot of my friends will be headed that way this coming week in order to get a good spot.

I am familiar with the CASI cook-off (there are two of them) not the one behind the Terlingua store. You can go camp for $30 for the event and they don't start charging until around Tuesday Nov 3rd, even after the event people stay for a couple of days to unwind and let the traffic thin out. If you don't mind a good party, nice friendly people and a ton of free food you could save yourself some pocket change and have a good time at the same time. Just a thought...

  8. MsBelinda, I'm already paid up here through the 15th of next month. You are right it is costing too much, but for now its what I'm stuck with. At this time it looks like its going to take several months to get back on my feet and like I said I'm stuck here. If I can ever get on the land then I can turn things around pretty quick, but I don't see a fast way to do that. Along with all the set backs I've ran in to along the way there is deep emotional baggage after leaving the woman I've loved for over 17 years. It was a decision I made because she kept making decisions that effected both of us without including me in the decision making so it was something I had to do. From what I hear now both of our lives are in shambles, but I'm doing my best to turn mine around. I can't let myself worry about hers anymore, but that's easier said than done. Unfortunately it looks like its going to take a lot longer than I'd figured on and I'm also having to try and keep my head on straight so that isn't helping either. That's life though.

  9. If there is a place in this world where you can sit, think and ponder your future and do so without stress, family and/or friends influence...it is in Terlingua. You have come to the right place. You will see how things fall into place and while it is hard to cut emotional ties with someone we love, time and distance helps heal our wounds. Best of luck.

  10. That's sad to hear mate. I've been with my wife for 10 years. I'm not sure what I'd do if we separated.
